Kiwi Banana Downunder

I can’t believe it that the time for my little girl to start Kindy at the local school has come. It felt like only a month ago when I was thinking, oh I don’t need to worry about her schooling stuff yet, it’s a long way off.

Look now, she’s going to school! We will be busy buying school stuff for her like lunchbag, shoes, textbooks, stationeries, uniforms … and the list goes on.

It’s exciting to enter another phase of both her and our lives. Daddy’s girl is growing up that’s for sure.

My sweet bubba had been having bouts of sickness too often this year. Like they say, it gets this way once they start preschool or daycare. She’s been having diarrhoea since yesterday and today she is just slightly better. The same goes for her coughing.

My poor girl. Hope her immunity system strengthens as she grows. Get well soon, my sweetest!

Another cold one today. Even showered lightly. Hope it doesn’t rain heavily when I get home else I’d be drenched. Don’t wanna get sick as I’m already busy enough and this weekend will be no exception. Like I said, always something happening!

Hope my poor girl gets well soon though. She’s been sick off and on almost every week since late Autumn. Because of that, my wife is extremely stressed and concerned.

Every evening when I get home, it would be such a delight to listen to my lil girl tell me about her day. Today, she said she got to touch an owl and a joey. How cute. The local wildlife park had a ranger brought some reptile and animals into the library meeting room where he explained a bit about each animal and allowed every kid to pet them. It is a free service as part of the school holiday program organised by the local library.

If anyone asks, yes at times I had been sleep deprived, thanks to my darling daughter who’d wake up several times during the night. I am sure parents who had gone through that would understand how my dark circle under eyes came about.

Thankfully for the past two months my girl hasn’t been doing that (waking up 5 to 10 times) dragging me or my wife out of bed between midnight till 4am. I wonder if our lectures worked or has she finally grown out of that habit?

But still, now and then she’d wake up at least once, sometimes she’d go straight to the bathroom and back to her bedroom without making a fuss but at times, she’d still come running to our room saying she had a bad dream.

Gotta take our little girl to the GP tomorrow for her 4 year old jab. Also to check if she is well as she threw up this evening and doesn’t seem to have appetite for anything. She even rejected milk for the first time ever. However she does not exhibit any symptoms of being unwell except having no appetite and napping more.

Anyway, will discuss with the GP tomorrow.
