Just watched this movie. Not a bad story, love the special effects. I remember how I used to play this game on the computer decades ago! Gee who would have guessed that someday it would be turned into a movie like this?

Speaking of computer games, I have not been playing any since ages ago. Just too busy with work and all I felt like doing once I get home is just to relax and spend a bit of time with my little girl.

I just got back from the cinemas, I had watched Avatar in 3D and it was simply amazing!  I felt so immersed in the fantasy world Pandora that when I left the cinemas, I wanted to go back and get another fix of Pandora.  It is so amazing how much technology has evolved, the 3D in this movie was breath-taking, the depth was very realistic and you actually felt like you were there!

Although the black-rimmed 3D glasses worn to watch this movie was by no means fashionable, it surely outdoes the old card-board frames with one red and one blue lens! LOL

Eversince last week, my friend had convinced me the new Transformers movie was being released this week but he sent me an sms and told me he got it wrong and it’s not at the cinemas until next week!

So all week I was looking forward on having Nandos for dinner right before watching the new Transformers movie, but alas it was a false alarm and will have to be next week, instead.

A friend and I went to watch this movie at the cinema on Thursday evening.

We exchanged a few brief words about how we thought the story would pan out based on the trailers and how, in general, this movie didn’t get a good review.

After watching this movie, I was actually quite satisfied with the direction and pace.  Maybe because I know this is the first movie of the trilogy.  My friend and I started to theorise what would happen in the next two movies and how it would end up full-circle to the very first Terminator movie.

Although Arnie did not act in this movie, they did a pretty damn good CG version of Arnie.  One thing which striked me as being odd is seeing Star Trek’s Pavel Chekov playing John Connor’s father.

Anyway, the next big movie to watch is Transformers 2!

I just got back home from watching Angels & Demons at the cinema.  It was an okay movie to watch.  It had it’s moments but wasn’t anything spectacular – good directing and production – but the story did not offer much in the form of challenge to the general viewer; and less so to those who’ve read the novel from which this movie is based on.

This is not a movie I would watch a second time if offered.

Last week it was X-Men: Origins – Wolverine, last night it was Star Trek!  Yes, I boldy went to where all fans go when there’s a new trek movie – to the cinema!  Had to feed the lil’ hungry tummy with some Nandos, first … the usual routine.

I must admit that being used to the old style of trek movies, tv or their tv-spinoffs which well and truely imprinted in my mind, it was kind of challenging to readjust to this vision or version of storytelling.  I did quite like this movie very much, but I really wanted to love it.  Perhaps I went in great expectation and instead of meeting this expectation, it was simply a good movie.  I would love to go and watch this movie a second time around … anyone want to go?
