Have not been catching up with my tv shows for quite awhile. Been rather busy at work and home (mostly working from home whenever I’m home from work, confused?).

Kinda miss those shows like Jag and other legal dramas. Mention any lawyer, such as the Texas Maritime lawyer and you’ll have me thinking about legal tv shows again.

My wife is not a fan of legal shows but she really liked Damages. I would need to watch that one as I have missed it while it aired on free TV.

David Tennant’s tenure as the 10th Doctor in the re-imaged Doctor Who has come to an end.  And what a sad day that was – he’ll be sorely missed.

The quick glimpse of his successor doesn’t appear to be anyone or anything special but to be fair that was also my first reaction after seeing David Tennant when he succeeded Christopher Eccleston.  So I’ll be patient and will re-evaluate once I’ve watched the first few episodes of the 11th Doctor (Mike Smith) … which isn’t too far away, the last I heard.

I must admit I’m quite impressed with Smallville this season.  I wasn’t exactly sure of what to expect since this season sees new Producers on the job.

The Superman mythology is applied tactfully and sometimes in a witty manner, and the first few episodes has been moody to say the least.  But one can just feel the tension building up and they’re throwing enough crumbs to keep us all interested.

Well done to the new Producers for the direction and shape for this season.

My dearest wife and I have been watching back-to-back episodes of Legend of the Seeker over the past week.  I had been meaning to watch this much talked about TV show but I had never got around until now.

I had no idea what it was about other than it was medieval and magical.  And in the opening scene, it looked very New Zealand-ish.  It turns out this was filmed in NZ and it was a Sam Raimi production!

It was very much Hercules or Xena: The Warrior Princess but without the sometimes unbearable humour.  Plus the action sequences are better choreographed in Legend of the Seeker.

We have almost finished watching the 1st season … just in time for the start of the 2nd season, this weekend!

For the past few months, it has been very quiet on the television front with many shows in between seasons.  But just last week, we had the new seasons of NCIS and Smallvile, and a new series NCIS – Los Angeles – a NCIS spin-off.

Over the coming week, we have another new series, Stargate Universe as well as a new season of Dollhouse, Sanctuary and Star Wars: Clone Wars.

I don’t really watch much TV at all :-P

I just finished watching episode 5 of a 5 episode mini-series of Torchwood.  They didn’t do a proper 13 episode season this year which is a darn shame.

And – wow – another main character is killed off and Jack runs off into the cosmos at the end!

If the ratings for this series aren’t good enough then this could serve as a series finale too.  But I doubt the ratings wouldn’t be good, if anything it would be highly rated in the UK where the show is being aired.

How will or will Jack return to Torchwood … and if so will he be resuming his position as lead of the Cardiff team.  Who will fill the void of the – now – 3 main characters which have been killed off?  Man, I hope they’ve already planned out what season 4 is going to be all about!
